Working on unprimed canvas, I build layers of translucent acrylic, creating veils of color that shift between softness and My work explores memory, identity, and emotion through abstraction. As a Korean American artist based in New York City, I navigate the tensions between visibility and invisibility, tradition and individuality, drawing from both cultural inheritance and personal experience.

My paintings reflect the dualities that shape my life: the balance between heritage and contemporary experience; the contrast between the quiet strength of my mother’s generation and the more vocal empowerment of women today; and the tension between the structured discipline of interior design and the freedom of painting. Through color, texture, and suspended forms, I transform memory and lived experience into a visual language that claims space, honors lineage, and gives voice to layered narratives.
